Ive had my hair for over 10 years now, i say don't shave it just yet, wait it out for a bit longer :)
For the weird lock i say use the loose hair tool, it just might do some good.

Your hair is cute :) I say go for it! I shaved one side of my head right before I went natural...it felt good knowing i could do whatever I wanted with my hair...so the sky is the limit :D
