In Connecticut, Diane Farrell, a two term first selectwoman in Westport is neck and neck with moderate Republican Christopher Shays. In 2004, she also ran, coming close to winning the seat with 48 percent of the vote. Farrell is one of a number of Democratic women running strongly against Republican incumbents who can't be easily labeled as liberal or conservative.
In this video, firefighter Eric Fine presents the Westport public safety radio system, which Farrell helped establish without federal funds. Joining her is Bob Kerrey, former presidential candidate, senator, and current president of The New School. He endorses Farrell and Senator Joe Lieberman.
