Carter: Urgh! This is soooo frustrating!
Juliet: (who just walked in) Whats soooo frustrating?
Carter: Ok, Principal Gonzalez said something to me about a talent show you were having and I want to sing in it, but I cant decide what to sing. I wrote three songs that are ALL really good.
Juliet: Well, sing them for me and Ill tell you which one you should sing.
Carter: (hesitant) Ok the first one is called Invisible. (starts to sing and play the guitar) She cant see the way your eyes, will light up when you smile. Shell never notice how you stop and stare, whenever she walks by. And you cant see me wantin you the way you want her, but you are everythin to me. (sings and plays the rest of the song then stops).
Carter: So, what did you think of that one?
Juliet: It waswow. Who was that about?
Carter: A guy I liked back home. His name was AJ. He liked a girl named Audrey and she was everything I wasnt.
Juliet: Ok, next one?
Carter: Ok. This is one I just wrote last week. Its called Youll Always Find Youre Way Back Home. (starts singing and playing) You wake up, its raining and its Monday. Looks like one of those rough days. Times up, youre late again so get out the door. But when the lights go down and its endin of the show, and youre feelin like you got no where to go, dont you know. (finishes song then stops)
Juliet: Thats really good too. Next?
Carter: This last one is what I wrote when I just got together with AJ and how he made me feel and how he never told me how he felt about us. Its called Dream. (starts singing and playing) Do me fa-vor. Tell me what you think about me. Tell me how you want us to be. Go out on a limb and just dream. Paint a picture. Choose your colors extra wise. Especially what you put on my mind. Imagine what itd be like to touch the sky, yeah, yeah. (finishes singing and playing)
Juliet: God, Cart. Youre, like, a really good singer. I think you should sing the last one.
Carter: Thanks!
/I dont feel like explaining the week before the talent show so Im just gonna skip to the talent show/
Carter: God, guys. Im sooo nervous. I mean Ive never sung in front of all these people before!
Shay: Itll be ok, Cart. Youre really good. Just remember, if you werent good, Principal Gonzalez never wouldve put you in the talent show right?
Carter: Right.
Talent Show Announcer: Up next, is Carter Wright. She is our newest student from America and she will be singing a song she wrote herself, called Dream. She will also be playing guitar. Give it up for Carter!
(Audience claps)
Carter: Th-th-thank you everyone. I-I-I-its an honor to be at this school. I would like to dedicate this song to my best friends, Juliet, Shay, Meredith, and Sabrina.
(Carter starts playing but no words come out of her mouth. She just looks around with a scared expression on her face)
Meredith: Whats going on? Why isnt she playing?
Sabrina: I think she has stage fright!
Carter: (stops playing) Im sorry. I cant do this!
(Starts to go backstage but then Juliet stands up)
Juliet: Do me a fa-vor. Tell me what you think about me. Tell me how you want us to be. (motions for the other girls to join and they help Carter sing her song)
Juliet, Sabrina, Shay, Meredith: Paint a picture-
(Carter starts singing it)
(Carter finishes it and when shes done the whole auditorium erupts in applause and she gets a standing ovation)
Talent Show Announcer: Well, I think its unanimous! The winner of the talent show is Carter Wright!
(The applause gets louder)
(Back at the dorm)
Carter: Thanks guys! I never couldve done it without you!
Meredith: No need to thank us. All in a days work for best friends.
(Carters cell phone rings)
Carter: Hello?
???: Carter? Its Dylan.
Carter: (squeaks) DYLAN!?
