Hey Sir Steve,
I was at Cairns airport yesterday, the rain was unbelievable, visability was down to 1000m. We were listening in on the approach and tower freq , a Quantas Dash 8 made three atempts to land and eventually had to divert to Townsville and there was a Virgin 737 (i think) made two attemps...got down eventually....the ILS is out of action at the moment. It was unreal, both pilots and ATC sure worked hard for their money that morning!!

Awesome vid dude!! What a great vantage point u had up the hill there. Excellent having ATC on the scanner in the backround too. CNS airport is one of the best in the world for spotting i reckon. Keep them coming mate!
how'd you get the scanner working with the film?

Just hang the scanner off the front of the camera, and roll on all the com's , then move the time line audio when editing the video.

Qantas not Quantas i mean....by the way they were also reporting a 3000ft per min downdraft! Passengers must have been hanging on!

The ILS has been off for a few days now, it,s giving false altitude readings.
Just when you need it , it,s not working,

Thanks for the comments, very glad you like what i do.
Just a note this is not from the blue arrow walk, but taken from the much more accessible "flying leap" shed just off Aeroglen Drive.
