Javed: Treatment of IDPs - China vs Pak

Javed Chaudhry - host of Kal Tak program in Pakistan - contrasts China's approach to settlement of its internally displaced persons (ie. IDPs) after a massive earthquake with Pakistan's handling of IDPs in the wake of military operations in Malakand and Swat. He explains how the Chinese government by encouraging sacrifice among its citizens was able to resettle its entire IDP population within two months without any external help or significant cost to the national exchequer. Moreover, China refused all international assistance - financial or otherwise - for its earthquake victims as a matter of national pride.
