Here's how to do a valve adjustment on a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Motorcycle. It's a neat design. You can do it in under 10 minutes and don't even need to remove the valve covers. See more about my motorcycle on my website at www.hoohoohoblin.com

  • great video, btw is this a 2 cylinder engine and does the tightening of the valve affect the tappet clearance?

  • @neutronjet It is a 1-cylinder motorcycle. Tightening the lifters tightens the tappet clearance.

  • can I buy that exact same sprung solo seat in the internet? please help me, i have bought the bullet standard 350 lately i'm looking forward to change the seat. thanks in advance.

  • @arouninn The seat is made in the USA by Le Pera. You can go to their website to see their custom seats. Go to Bikes and then Spring Solo. I believe mine is the large solo seat. The tricky part will be attaching it to the bike. You'll need some springs and hardware to attach it to the bike. My seat was put on by the previous owner, so I don't know where to get the hardware. You can also check the royalenfieldusa online store. They have a few different solo seats for sale.

  • Thanks a lot, might need to come back to this.

  • Thanks for taking the time brah.

  • @spidiq8 I agree. If you do it with the engine hot, there's a chance that the adjustment will be too tight when the engine cools off, and you will have no compression when you try to start the bike when it's cold. There are people who say it's best to adjust the valves with the engine hot. Some people even check the pushrods with the engine hot and running. I was surprised to find so many different people with different methods. The Royal Enfield Bullet manual says do it with the engine cold.

  • @volucerparagliders Valve clearences should ALWAYS be done when the engine is cold, that's Stone Cold, ideally left overnight or several hours until theres not a hint of warmth from any part of the block.

  • guys try bullet 5 shift with disc,,,,with old engines,,,,,,,its best to ride

  • Thanks,

Have broken my inlet valve push rod yesterday and replaced it in 40' minutes using your video. I noticed that the new push rod sometimes twists like I have seen on your video. The reason in my case is the cup on the rocker end or on the tappets end which is not equal. Here in India however this is normal. The price for 1 push rod here is 60 Roupies or 1.25 Us dollar, but cannot guarantee it will last or long, so I bought 5 at the same time.

    Regards
