The City Beneath - France

November 2009
A town within town; over 4 years one man has chipped away at the abandoned stone quarry beneath his town in central France to create a façade which comes to life with cats entering doors, keys hanging on the lock, and a mayor on his balcony addressing the townsfolk. Visitors from far and wide come to marvel and the sculptor starts work on a castle.

Utterly breathtaking. However with so many visitors I would recommend all wear ordinary Surgical Masks to cut down on the moisture exhaled that would damage the reliefs over time and cotton gloves if people touched anything.

Would probably be better to add something to the rock to prevent it from degrading too fast because of human interaction.
