@thetaxifactory A10's do that because they are so slow and when they are pulling out of an attack run they are exposed to any type of Surface to Air missile. They are dropping flares just to clarify

Incredible...always have wanted to see...hear...that GAU-8 do its work. From a safe distance of course. Curious if it's possible for a civilian see an A-10 do this.

It's not a public demonstration. The kid you hear is probably the child of someone serving in the US Air Force. The demo was open to members of our armed services and their family.
