Wikipedia search "Good Times" in-article Contents Box reference #8 "Theme song and opening" shows: "The gospel-inspired theme song was composed by Dave Grusin with lyrics written by Alan & Marilyn Bergman... The insert for the Season One DVD box set has the lyric as 'hangin' in a chow line'. However, the Bergmans confirmed that the lyric is actually 'hanging in and jiving.' " Class dismissed.(>_^)

@salvodisalvo Of course it doesn't grow. It's hyperbole. Since there's no grass in the projects, they can only watch the asphalt "grow". I didn't guess the lyrics, by the way. I looked them up. That's the official set of lyrics. "Asphalt road" would be terribly un-creative.
