Hold On" is a song from the album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band by John Lennon with backing from the Plastic Ono Band featuring Ringo Starr on drums and Klaus Voormann on bass guitar. It features only vocals, tremolo guitar, drums, and bass guitar, typical of the sparse arrangements Lennon favored at the time. In the middle of the song, Lennon mutters the word "cookie", imitating the Cookie Monster from the U.S. children's television show Sesame Street.
It was sampled extensively on the track 'Hold On John' by hip-hop group Johnson&Jonson, from their self titled album
