Can a .223 Tikka 1/8 twist shoot Palma? Thanks. Also, what is your weekly training regimen? Thanks again.

Hi Pete,

You can shoot up to 80/82 grain bullets from a 1:8" twist .223. If you can keep the velocity high enough, it will shoot 1000 yards and be legal for Palma. I'm not directly familiar with the Tikka, you do need iron sights. If it's a scoped rifle, you can shoot from a bi-pod in F-TR class.

I don't really have a training regimen. I just shoot a lot of matches.

Jenny, In order to show flags I would need a second camera or zoom back from the target. I might take another stab at it this summer with 2 cameras.

Nice Shooting, my personal best at 800 is 149x11 with an M14. (Team issued rifle) What rifle were you using? My personal Palma rifle is a Winchester 70 with an Obermyer 5R barrel and Swinson sights. It's pretty old school haha, I'd love to have a Quad Lock or a Barnard.

Okay, what rifle were you using and how long have you been shooting it at this distance? I've ben working on 400 yard shots with a Savage 110 in .30-06 and on my luckiest day I hit the X twice. Out of the ten rounds I shot that is.
