Why couldn't his last solo cd be like this one?

@DisasterBlaster500 Well, his last solo CD was absolutely terrible. In a sense, times of Rock N' Roll have changed, and it is hard not to give in. This album is much better than the album titled 'Asshole', but it is two different types of rock.

I think it would be hard for Gene to release an album, similar to this one, and for it to sell all that well, at all!

@KISSROCKS7300 The only song off the asshole album I like is the song Frank Zappa wrote I believe it,s called black tounge

@pattersongrove I do happen to like that song as well as Sweet and Dirty Love.

That album still isn't a good one, but I will admit that there are at least two high points.

@cobias Gene and Paul's were much better in my opinion. Ace's jammed but his vocals have never been that great

@BuckNekkid3000 I'll second that, but either way he is a good businessman with good showmanship. He was never in it purely for the music like Ace & Peter were nor was Paul. Paul just wanted to give everybody a show like they've never seen before and gene just wants to sell everything that he possibly can. I'm not knocking Gene, because he's good at what he does. But when I say that I mean selling things, not playing bass or writing songs. That's Ace, Paul and ever Peters forte.

Still not better then Ace's. Honestly, say what you will but I think Peter's was the most overlooked album of them all. Ace & Peter = True musicians - Gene & Paul = Businessmen/Showmen

I love ACE but thinking his Album was better ? This album was so diverse , classy, rocking ( at times ). I think it was the best of the four. Gene did a great job !

@KISSROCKS7300 - the ony people buying KISS albums (solo or as a band) are KISS fans. It'd sell the same amount as "A**hole" and be a much better record if he wrote the songs himself, unlike "A**hole" where he just added his vocals to other bands demos they submitted to Simmons Records.

this was my favourite song by gene off his solo album , i also remember it confusing me when i first heard it on best of solo albums before that i had only heard his voice on alive 2 so i was slightly confused that this was the same gene.

still love the song though.

@StoneColdCrazy74 Come on. Get real. He is ANYTHING but a "great bassist." He was forever hitting sour notes in their live shows.
