The first egg of the season was seen when the female Tawny Owl left the box at 04.37 on Sunday 20 February. She had been in the box since 22.30 on Saturday, and was fed by the male just after midnight. The laying interval for Tawny Owls is 3-4 days, so we could see the next egg on Thursday 24 February. Note the Wood Mouse in the bottom right of the box, brought as prey by the male.
