This joyful love song is credited to Johnny Almeida, but was writtten by a friend. It has two line stanzas and is played with its own syncopation. I'm trying to put the trademark Hawaiian uke strum into my accompaniment, but I'm not very good at it.

  • You can't see the intense concentration caused by the Hawaiian strum, but it's there. Thanks for listening!

  • Aloha, Jesse!! I'm in an ukulele class now, and my instructor wants us to play this song in the keys of F, G, and A. therefore, the song is F for the first verse, G for the second and third verse, A for the fourth and fifth verse, G for the sixth verse, and F for the last verse. I need help!!!

  • That is a challenging strum, but good for this song and a hula with ipu.

  • Aloha Jesse, Ive been in HI for quite some time and I brought soprano Uku with me, so I tuned it up and learned few very simple songs, now Iam trying some hawaiian songs because they remind me of HI and here in Europe its very rare to hear them, green rose hula is definitely one of them, so I wanna ask u if its possible to somehow get chords u r playing on that video. I would really like to learn this song and play it for my friends. Mahalo

  • Aloha e Jesse - I love the way you played and sang this. Nothing wrong with your strum whatsoever. It sounds great! You played it very well, in fact. I can just picture ladies dancing hula behind you. This is a great one for hula because of the rhythm - can picture the pa`u swishing around

    Mahalo for great music!

    Me ke aloha,

    Wanda
