plus, think of the hundreds of greyhound that will DIE without the track.. They will go to shelters, no one would adopt them, and they would be put down. Not every shelter is a "no-kill shelter"

My friend's entire family worked at the dog track. And if only the nearby towns to the dogtracks voted they wouldnt have closed, why would the stupid ppl of springfeild care about a dogtrack 2 hours away?

First of all we aren't all stupid ppl here in springfield if we beat your ass 56 to 44%!! STATEWIDE!! I think 1.6 million ppl can tell you who cares about the welfare of greyhounds and didn't want to listen to the lies from the tracks anymore. I guess ppl will have to get a life and go get more training for a better job. Look ppl are losing their jobs everywhere and the economy in ma is not going to fall just because 2 race tracks are closing! The ppl of ma have spoken!

this is bullshit and the greyhound racing industry knows it. WE ARE DO NOT LIE ABOUT ABUSE, it has been documented. there are photographs, videos, witnesses and literally dead dog's bodies. anyone who tells you other wise is a lying. this women deserves to lose her job. just because you dont personally abuse the dogs doesn't mean you aren''t contributing to it. I'm glad these jerks lost their jobs.

The abuse is the same the world over.
Over breeding - lack of welfare - injuries - disposal of greyhounds.
End of!
The only people who defend this industry are those who depend on the exploitation of greyhounds for their livelihood!

Please review the facts. In 2003 and 2004 a dog at Wonderland tested positive for cocaine. Is that abuse? Yes. The dogs end up in adoption centers all over. I work at one in MA and we get dogs from the tracks regularly. Many are there for a long period of time. The tracks dont follow up on their dogs so they dont know what their rate really is. One dog has been at my facility for years! He just hasnt been lucky! So I wouldn't call that a perfect rate. Please reconsider and vote yes on 3.

Absolutely! Anyone who reinforces such an industry all contribute to the suffering and abuse of animals! YES ON 3!

The facts are not disputable. Race tracks record the # of injuries-it is the law. A dog lives his life in a cage for most of the time (years if they are good). I think that treating animals this way is the basis for more abuse. In addition, the employees will have 14 months to find a new job if question 3 passes. There will be assistance & retraining programs available for track employees so stop being babies & live a life free from reinforcing abuse & violence in the world.
