Michael Connelly has always tried to give his readers bonus material with each new novel. Short stories, lost chapters, and visual adaptations. This time we have something new. A short film called "Conflict of Interest," which features the exploits of FBI Agent Rachel Walling leading up to the point she enters the story of THE SCARECROW. Don't worry, there are no spoilers here. The story runs parallel to THE SCARECROW. The case Rachel is working comes very close to the story Jack McEvoy is chasing. Written by Michael Connelly, the film will be available in three parts. The first installment is linked below. Watch for part two next Tuesday, and the finale on May 26, the day THE SCARECROW is published in the USA and Canada.

Brilliant. The LA streets at night are just how I imagined them when reading "The Poet". great idea, theoneronnie. Ian Rankin is actually mentioned in one of the recent Connelly books - a Rankin advert features in background of photographic evidence!!
I'm lucky enought to have seen Michael last night at a book signing and he told us to watch this! Brilliant tie in. Won't say much else in case no-one has watched it yet.
Excellent visual adaptation. Maybe Michael Connelly should adapt his books into movies and keep Hollywood from screwing things up. Looking forward to meeting Michael Connelly in Denver on 06/05/09.
'EXACTLY! Connelly and good writers like him need to SAVE Hollyweird from all the junk and rehash out there today. I'd watch every single movie based on his books lol. I'd love to see a finished "Echo Park" at some point: I never guessed it'd be 1 of the ones to get a movie adaptation of a chapter lol, but it's 1 of my faves'.
Great video! Can't wait for the book! This looks like the Casa del Mar Hotel and the parking lot just west.....the suspect took off toward where I live...oooooooo.
many, many thanks! Big fan and this is just the icing on the cake. Hope Rachel features in the next few books - ever thought of a British / USA crossover with Harry & Rebus????? Sure Mr Rankin would lap it up, Bosch in Edinburgh now there is a story
