I have just a few words, "fast and furious." The govt does it with no repercussions!

@mrmott44 its not entrapment...... the sellers had a chance to say no to the buyer..... so yes it would hold up in court.

It only takes 5 minutes to do a back ground check. They really have no excuse not to. If I'm going to sell a gun I own to a friend then yes I to would have to get the on record because I would also like proof that the gun is not in my possession anymore.

Funny, the BUYERS here who 'admitted' to being unqualified buyers are all committing federal Felonies, and are entrapping the sellers.......so it would never hold up in court.

@lleuwelynn Most of the non licensed sales at gun shows are collectors selling their personal firearms. Some people buy or sell a gun or 2 every few weeks at shows not to mention all the private sales. It is just stupid to make then do a background check over & over & over. The vast majority of people would never knowingly sell to a criminal. It is a very small % of sellers that do it for a business and sell to anyone. Mandated checks would be a huge hassle, costs $, and wouldn't help crime.

Bloomberg should worry about NYC and not the rest of the country.
If it was easier to carry a gun in NYC concealed the crime rate would go down dramaticly.

Its non of bloombergs bussiness, he should stick his nose somewhere else

@jonestim491 and when will you start understanding the fact that when you are not required to do background checks on private gun sales you dont even know what kind of person you are selling to? so it might as well be an al quada. And guess what? then you would be guilty of treason as well. lol you got no foot to stand on :). ow yeah baby freedom lol.

you guys do know that you can still just buy a gun from your grandpa or your nabor right!? and a study done by the beauro of justice shows that less then 1% of guns used in crimes came from gun shows. getting rid of gun shows is just stupid and the numbers show it.
