well... they had a connection with the eldar webway when the Emperor was still alive, through the gate in the golden throne, but then it got infested by chaos.

the Emperor had to stay on his throne and use his power to block the demons, till the Horus Heresy, after that, the throne was modified to help emperor survive and still use his power to protect mankind.

in the last year of 41th millenium, some equipment on the throne began to fail and couldn't be replaced

@Majora48 @GeneralSturnn why the fuck are you too arguing about something so trivial? it really doesnt matter either, worlds are lost and regained, if they are worthless and taken they are left alone, if they are valuable, the Adeptus astartes begin a campaign for it, endless war all the time, and by the way, they cant really go on offense, its rare but it does happen and a new, never before conquered planet becomes theres, they are too decentralised for anything major.
