Thought it was about time this classic Fairies track was on here. It's accompanied by some random Maid pix off the net.

Chambermaid was the third track on side 2 of the fabulous 'Kings of Oblivion' album, the heaviest of the Fairies three studio albums; I can't believe it doesn't get more airplay, guess it's the risque lyrics that did for it.

How about a reunion gig fellers? I hear the Roundhouse is doing bands again....

UP THE PINKS!

  • Thanks for posting. Nobody under an ol' git age remembers them playing live like the comments here. 'Walk don't Run' was also a classic version. Were you all original Glastonbury gits ?? Bet you don't go to the mickey mouse commercial events now -?? Or do you.?

  • Oh yeah, forgot to mention, we were all on Sunshine Orange at the time as well...

  • That's nothing. I saw the Fairies at Kensington town hall back in the 70's. The door was manned by a group of Hells Angels. The bass player was painted green head to foot and ate lit cigarettes while performing. Twink was on drums and did a drum solo that went on for about 2 hours before he literally passed out onstage from exhaustion. When Punk Rock made the scene about two years later, I thought ''nah, I've seen all this before...''

  • brilliant! i dont care if she looks like a dog! saw them in 75 at barbarellas classic

  • i enjoyed listening to this - i was never a big fan of this group when they were popular but what i remember is that i went to the same school as darren sanderson brother - i think his name was Ian
