Appearing on Hannity, presidential candidate, Newt Gingrich discusses his steady rise in the polls and answers his critics.

He tells Hannity, "I've voted 7,200 times in my career. I've given probably 15,000 speeches. I've written 24 books, and have had 13 best sellers. The fact is, if you go through all that, you're going to find plenty of things to throw at me. The question is do the American people care? Are they going to say, "Okay, so the guy has written lots of stuff?" I mean, 24 books is a lot of words. You can find a paragraph here and a paragraph there. I think what people want to know is do I have solutions for America. Am I tough enough to take the heat? Do I have the experience? We've tried four years of inexperience and amateurism, do I have the experience to actually get it done?"

Newt discusses his successes that include helping "create the first elected Republican House majority in over forty years, the first reelected majority since 1928. Welfare reform, the largest entitlement to be reformed so far, where two out of three people went to work or went to school, and everyone agrees it was tremendously successful in improving the lives of those who had been trapped in dependency."

"We had the first tax cut in 16 years, the largest capital gains tax cut in American history. Unemployment dropped from 5.6 to 4.2%. We balanced the federal budget for four consecutive years and paid off $405 billion in debt. I insisted on strengthening the intelligence budget, and the 9/11 commission said the "Gingrich Plus-up" was the only increase in intelligence funding in the entire 90s."

"When I became speaker the Congressional Budget Office said our ten-year deficit projection was a $2.7 trillion. When I left office, 4 years later, they said our surplus projection for ten years was $2.3 trillion. That is a $5 trillion dollar shift in the fiscal strength of the United States in four years—done while negotiating with a liberal democrat in the White House."

Newt goes on to answer questions regarding previous marriages, global warming/Nancy Pelosi, Dream Act, Cap and Tax, healthcare mandates, and Freddie Mac.

He also discusses how he has changed since being Speaker and how becoming a grandfather gives you a very different perspective of life. Also, how his strengthened Faith has given him a "peace and reassurance now that he just didn't have before."

  • I am so excited about the idea of Newt being our next president. I will say that I would not be disappointed if Ron Paul won the nomination but If Romney wins I will vote for Obama and lose all faith in the republican party.

  • on most ngingrich channel's video, they deleted the comment area because the comments were so overwhelmingly against Newt.

On Ron paul channel, EVERY SINGLE CHANNEL IS OPEN.

Conclusion, All Newt Gingrich supporters are redneck who can't use the internet or begin to debate their position with reason on an open platform.

  • The SC result proves that Southerns are motivated far more by hatred of blacks (e.g., the Juan Williams incident that helped The Grinch "surge") than by "family values."

What a laughable embarrassment SC remains! These traitors should never have been readmitted to the Union.

You don't think waterboarding is torture? Its one thing if you think we should torture our enimies for information, that is a debate for another time, but you think waterboarding isn't torture? Look it up, waterboarding is torture, it simulates drowning. We have spent 4 trillion dollars over the past 10 years on these undeclared wars, and we can't afford our foriegn policy anymore.
