On April 1, 2010 the Houston County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of Dothan Police Department, Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (A.B.C.), Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) and the Houston / Henry County District Attorneys Office, charged Ashley Benton Bond a 26 year old male of Dothan, Al. and Harley David Bottoms a 29 year old male of Slocomb, Al. with Trafficking Methamphetamine (ice). The Houston County Sheriff's Office 3 month investigation/ surveillance led to the arrest of the subjects at approximately 10:00 p.m. at U.S. Hwy 231 S. and Hwy. 109 after a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle and a short foot chase of Harley Bottoms. The Houston County Sheriffs Office recovered 16 ounces (1lb.) of methamphetamine (ice) from the suspect vehicle with a street value of $25,000.00. Ashley Bond and Harley Bottoms are being held in the Houston County Jail with a $500,000.00 on each awaiting transport to Montgomery, Al. for the case to be presented to a Federal Grand Jury. The case is still under investigation with additional arrest expected.
