  • Why was Bob Jenkins not calling this race? Anyone know?

  • Bob Jenkins was calling the IRL race at Texas just like had in 1999, so for the second straight year Dr. Jerry Punch took over play by play.

  • Truly one of his greatest wins and one of the greatest drive we have ever seen on a racetrack.

  • Agreed, but I can't help but feel bad for Mike Skinner who almost won his first official Winston Cup race.

  • @m140m

Mike Skinner is an idiot. There is a reason he's never won a cup race.

  • @Gforcebond And what reason would that be?

  • This is also the final time that this race would be named the Winston 500. EA Sports took over title sponsorship of this race in 2001.

  • 4:32 - 4:38 protecting that EZ win.

  • If NASCAR was still like this everything would be awesome; except with better safety at least

  • I WAS IN THE TOWER OVER THE TURN 4 SHORT SHOOT. MY BUDDY (GORDON FAN) SAID LOOK, EARNHRDTS CAR IS F**KED UP. TIRE MARKS , THEN DOWN THE BACKSTRETCH A SAID HERE HE COMES, HERE HE COMES! AND PANDIMONIUM INSUED

  • mike skinner had a chance to get a EZ win at EZDEGA but he pissed it away.

  • at 1:23 I was like. oh yeah, when you see him racing like that it is go time. I knew he was gonna try something at that point

  • Jeff Gordon was in 15th and made it to 4th that was chaos.

  • I don't mind the tandem, but I have preferred the pack racing and can't wait to see what they can do for Daytona.

  • @cstrnutt2004 They are. They've been testing at Daytona and from what I've heard there might be a solution.

  • In a perfect world, this would be prelude to Title Eight. It was his in 2001.

  • I was in Anniston Tower for this race and it was LOUD when that #3 went to the front. I recall Kenny Wallace saying that there was no way that he was going anywhere but where Earnhardt was going. Miss ya, 3. And.. miss you NASCAR (the way it used to be).
