no you can link it with many Pograms like DigiPerf. , Logic Pro, Logic Studio, FL8, Sonar, Cubase, etc- .. to do this you have to press " Utility" than Choice with the select button "DAW Select" and than you'll find Many Programs and you can link it with 1 click.. =) hope it helps.. sorry for my bad english , iam German

I just picked mine up today and the thing is smooth. You're right about the function problem part, I used it with Reason and to use the Arp feature, it'll make it sound wierd.
But everything else is a-ok

No, if you read the product description it works with just about any program, it just has specific features that work well with Cubase.
