Do you mean to say, you hate yourself? That's not good! . You might want to see a shrink, but not in Florida, which is an oasis for quacks and cons. Go to NYC or Boston, where Republicans, Tea Partiers and others of their loathsome ilk are a laughing stock. . The antidote for self loathing is psychoanalysis and medication. As a columnist for several of Florida's major newspapers for more than a decade, and having lived in that cesspool state for years, I have plenty of stories....

Hypocricy has nothing to do with it. Florida, a sunny state for shady people, cares zero about environmental issues (witness its highways), has a long history of bigotry and violence (including an entire town , Rosewood (?), made famous for its mass genocide of blacks in the 1920s), political conservatism that has institutionalized biogtry, including homophobia, and not least, its peculiar brand of medical practitoners who rip off patients and misdiagnose left and right.

No worries, I will never set foot in that ghastly, backwoods part of the world ever again. However, in fairness, I would have to say that at least Miami is not like the rest of Florida; there is at least a an authentic cosmopolitanism and intellectual curiosity afoot there, as so many of its inhabitants are northeners. As for the rest of the state -- Tampa, St Petersburg, the Panhandle, etc - it is nothing but a cesspool for real bigots, rednecks, tea partiers, and con artists.
