The OvaCue predicts ovulation using the patented Electrolyte Method™ - a technique that has been demonstrated to be 98.3% accurate in predicting ovulation in clinical studies overseen by the National Institute of Health.

Here's how it works: Throughout your monthly cycle, your body retains or discards varying amounts of minerals, such as sodium and potassium (electrolytes). The OvaCue tracks the changes in these electrolyte levels in your saliva over time and processes this information to precisely define your time of peak fertility.

About a week before ovulation, a high point in the salivary readings of electrolytes is reached, corresponding with the release of the dominant follicle (ovum). The measurement of this phenomenon is what allows the OvaCue to provide an accurate prediction of ovulation several days in advance.

As you get closer to ovulation, your body begins to produce estrogen, causing a definite change in the electrolytes in the reproductive tract. Estrogen secretion increases and the electrolyte content of the vaginal mucus changes, causing the OvaCue readings to drop. About 12-24 hours before ovulation your body switches to progesterone dominance, causing a sharp increase in vaginal readings, which confirms ovulation and marks the closing of your fertile window.

  • Lucy, where did you get your ovacue? I'm trying to find one cheap, but everyone that I've found is $300 plus with both sensors. Do you have any suggestions or know anyone willing to lend theirs out?

  • @thecdnwolfeden FairHaven Health

  • checked out the reviews on Amazon.com and people are hating!! I'm irragular and I wanted this product so bad but after reading those other reviews I got cold feet. Thank you for this video review!! i'm definantly buying it asap :)

  • @sheepbob I had a great experience with it. After I finished using it I let a friend borrow it, who after 4 months of TTC previously, only took 2 cycles to conceive using the OvaCue. When she was done I let another friend borrow it who had been trying for MONTHS and it only took her one cycle to conceive using the OvaCue. I let yet another person borrow it, who hasn't started it yet, she just got it. She's been trying a year so we'll see how long it takes her now w/ it.

  • @sheepbob Part 2: All 3 of my friends have irregular cycles btw. THey all make videos on here too.

  • does this product work for PCOS? I have cycles between 28 - 40 days.

    Thoughts? Thanks! :)

  • @shoegal330000 Just email them & ask to double check ;)

  • @shoegal330000: We at one time had a PCOS Naturopathic approach on the 4chango channel.

  • I can't wait to het mine! I had an IUD but it was killing me! I couldn't eat I was sick all the time loosing wait horrible abdominal pain!!! But we're not ready for baby #4 yet so we are going to try NFP!!!!

  • @jamaicanmehappy You have to have a cycle for it to work properly. If you look on their site under FAQ it will be on there. Hope this helps :) *You could ask for Progesterone from your midwife or ob/gyn to bring on AF. That is what I had to do to get mine back**
