Please excuse the poor video quality. I'm kicking off the new year by uploading some older videos. This was taken on 1/31/03. F40PHM-2C 2105 stops at Old Town. Here, the locomotive still had its original K5LA which sounded great. This horn was on 2105 until it had..."issues" in 2006-07. Enjoy!
2105 is my favorite coaster locomotive :D

What kind of problems did #2105 have with its K5LA in 2006-07? Did something go wrong with its horn?

Ah, that sounded just like an Amtrak F40....Classic....

@CoasterFan2105 The passenger trains in general are, in my opinion, in need of a manufacturer that can produce some new engines for them that will last and perform as well as the 'old school' engines like the F40's.

@DJGENEX71 What's junk are these dang F59PHI's we have down here! They really suck!

@Trainbrain1949 Cool! Amtrak should have kept all the F-40's they had now they need them that the P-42's are always breaking down, dang GE junk. LOL!

@DJGENEX71 Actually I have to correct my information. There are two ex Amtrak locomotives on Metra's roster.

@Trainbrain1949 2 of them are now! 215 and 216

Amtrak should have rebuilt their F40PH fleet like Via Rail did.

Now that K5LA probably got the attention of every driver going over the crossing. Definitely needed in that situation where you're departing inches away from it.
