Hey I like the righting pole, we use a double action shroud tensioner with a quick disconnect pin to loosen the shroud which is in the air. This allows the upper hull to fall back about 18 inches and, greatly assists in getting the boat shinny side up. Of course on windy days the wind helps too, just have to hang on like crazy once the hull hits the water cause it will surely flip the other direction if your not hanging on.

I guess in my case its a necessity.. normally sailing in 15 ft or less off Atlantic beaches... my father and uncle turned over our 21 four times in the course of 30 min ... pretty rowdy day :)

Great video. I built my own righting pole and hopefully it works this well. Why did you tie the rope to the front?

I have the mama bob, It will only stop you from going turtle. And it makes you look like a beginner and it adds more weight when you are trying to right the boat. I am saving the mama bob for the next owner. Have only flipped the beast on purpose to make sure the righting pole works. If there were two people on board righting the boat that weigh 300 lbs. each it would be easy. Me and my crew in the vid. only weigh 340 lbs.
