Seamus Milne Guardian Columnist talks some sense about the War In Afghanistan and how it is reported by the media who are inturn controlled by the Military and the Government. This talk was standing room only and put on by Media WOrkers Against the War and The Stop the War Coallition and feel on the monday after Afghanistan earned the milestone of claiming more British Soldiers than Iraq Claimed in total and just like the Iraq War none of its objectives have been achieved despite hundreds of billions of pounds and tens of thousands of innocent lives.

  • He talks about civilian detahs in Afghanistan, but what about the civilian deaths caused by al qaeda throughout the world in the last 20 years. Morroco. Bali, Madrid. 3,000 deaths in New York alone. The then government of Aghan, the Taliban, enabled this carnage of the innocent; facilitated and supported the terrorist campaign. What were we supposed to do? Allow the Taliban to give al qaeda a free hand as it plotted our destruction?

Read Nick Cohen's "What's Left: How the Left Lost its Way".

  • Not nearly as many as killed by American Wars of Agression since World War Two. about 76 in Total. Watch The War On Democracy by John Pilger. If you knew the history of the Taliban and the Spread of Radical Islam then you would know that it gained a hold through the United States and its Ally Saudi Arabia in that Region repelling hte Russions form Afghanistan and has been further spread by unpopular wars in hte Middle east which killed 1 million in Iraq alone.

  • Technically, Al-Qaeda didn't exist "20 years" ago.

But more to the point, yours is a false logic. One crime doesn't justify another, greater, crime. If some one huts a family member of yours, that doesn't justify you killing their family in return.

You also ignore the factt hat Al-Qaeda came into existece in response to American inteventionism.
