His last comment is the most important. You have to run it every month or 2 or it will not work when you need it. You can get rid of all the extension cords using a transfer switch or a simple $150 interlock kit that fits on your panel (google it) and use the generator to give power to your whole electrical panel. You don,t have to pull your fridg or TV out to get to the cords. They have pretty good explination on the web site
