Dominic Monaghan is well-versed in the green way, having gained experience on the greenest place in all the land – the Shire. We’re positive hobbits are eco-conscious, and being stranded on an island (in Lost) would certainly make one ponder sustainability. Being totally at home in natural environments, Dominic has made the commitment to composting in his own habitat, and participates in a number of green movements, to continue the conversation wherever he goes.

Matt Petersen, the founder and president of Global Green USA, told the audience, “we spend more money on energy in schools than we do on textbooks.” In an article he recently wrote, Petersen says, “As the Congress deliberates the largest stimulus package in history, there is no single better investment that we can make than to help maximize the potential learning and productivity of our children,” a point echoed when Obama addressed the nation.
