City and Colour - The Girl (cover)

Back again with another City and Colour cover. What can I say? Dallas Green is my favorite songwriter.

Here are a few things in case you guys are looking for some VH1 Behind The Music babble. This is my first attempt at recording video harmonies with myself. I'm no @chrisdogden, but I had fun with it. The harmonies were rushed and there are absolutely some foul notes in there (please forgive). Another note, I was having trouble with Logic Studio (I haven't used it in a long time). I couldn't monitor myself in headphones live. I had to record a few bars, then switch a setting in the software to hear playback. Then I'd make some tweaks to the levels, switch the setting back and record some more. Also, I left the pop screen at Corben's house, so you'll definitely hear those little bursts of air. Definitely not ideal for trying to get great sound. I'll have to work a lot of kinks for the next video.

Anyway, that's enough babbling for now. Try real hard to enjoy the song, and you just might.

@TwoCapitals I may pull another one of those simultaneous insults/compliments, but you played well. Dallas Green has a very soothing voice, I was just surprised to see the song writing thing when I looked in the description. I just don't take his songwriting very seriously. Just kind of mashed up arpeggios and strumming with some really ambiguous topics. But if you look at the column to our right, it looks like he is getting a lot of people to pick up an acoustic guitar. Which says something.

@thespecter2 I hear ya. I enjoy learning his songs for a couple of reasons. First, they're always quite tricky to play. Second, they're a ton of fun to sing. Third, the rhythm (although it sometimes sounds simple) is always unique. He changes chords at odd times and getting the breathing right is a challenge. That combination makes me a better guitar player.
