  • I love this- "Don't be depressed if you never see posted your immortal lines!"

Thank you for doing so and cleaning up nonsense on youtube.

  • @musikenergy

Marian Anderson deserves the greatest respect

  • She is among my list of 10 greats who, if I had the opportunity to go back in time, I would choose to hear. I too have frequently been annoyed by rediculous comments, but i really hate sensorship too, after all, whats the point of wanting to hear only those things with which we agree?

  • @operalament

Why do we need music critics? not on my page, lol

  • I listen to a great many Marian Anderson recordings and videos - Bellini's Casta Diva is among her greatest, along with Schubert's "Standchen" + "Gretchen am Spinnrade" and surprises like "Coming thru the Rye" with Franz Rupp on 1950 video. I wonder if anyone can identify the location of the photo that appears about 49 seconds along in this video - outdoors with perhaps a family member or the piano accompanist? Thanks to you and others who contribute Marian Anderson videos.

  • @Lactoris1 Marian Anderson with Ernesto de Quesada in Mexico (Teotihuacán pyramid). Ernesto de Quesada (1886 — 1972) was the Cuban-born impresario who founded Conciertos Daniel, the classical music management agency now known as Hispania Clásica.

I've never heard this before....thanks so much for sharing it with everyone.

A voice like this comes, not once in a century, but once in a millennium! I love everything she ever recorded. Thank You again!

Some say she was a milestone in the fight for Black rights. God bless her

  • she had the capacity to create great beauty... how many can say that?

  • @rix657 The quickness of the vibrato is a consequence of the recording technology. It wouldn't have been this fast in person.

  • What an incredible vibrato she had. This is a very stirring recording. Awesome.

  • I know that she sang one staged role in opera (Ulrica at the Met, 1955). After hearing her sing this raretity, it makes one wish they could hear her Adalgesia to Ponselle's Norma.
