MonsterQuest Season 4 Episode 5 - The Mothman Part 1/3

In 1967, a giant winged monster reportedly terrorized the skies over a small town in West Virginia, ending in a tragic bridge collapse that claimed forty-six lives. Since then the Mothman, as the beast was known, has become an omen of doom and death. With new sightings across America today, this creature may be returning. In a search for answers, MonsterQuest will use night time surveillance, perception tests and forensic sketching to determine if the beast is myth or frightening reality.

I'm a wiccan and though I would like to believe all the mysterious creatures on monsterquest are real..they arent. Mothman is an owl- its just wishful thinking. Although I have no problem with peoples beliefs, there comes a moment when things like perception a schotoma have to be looked at to determine what is affecting what you see. If you think a house is haunted, it will be. if you think theres a monster in your back garden then every rustle and noise will be that monster.

if i had the privelage to see it again, i would walk up to it and say hi. i would state that im a friend and i wont hurt it. you see, these creatures dont just appear for no reason, theres a reason. why,....we will never truly know. but i think we are misunderstanding their purpose. unless theyre coming after you and are trying to kill you, i wouldnt be afraid. im not. you shouldnt. but still, the "mothman" is still a magnificent being and should be left alone.

especially in an area where no such creatures exist there and never would. it was about the size of a 8or 9year old child. huge black eyes, huge mouth with a smile, human like hands with chimpanzee like feet that were also hands...kinda. it was looking right at me and i freaked out a little and looked down at the ground. when i looked back up, it was gone. wiccans say it could be a positive spirit and i would sense if it were evil. but it definitely was real.

many people all over the world believe that earth spirits can take the shape of whatever they want to. although, since most people are dependent on science, we need to see to believe. i myself had an experience that others call a hallucination or my wild imagination. well, if youre in the deep woods and stop to hear the loud brustling of the leaves on the top of a maple tree in late summer and happen to see a creature that looks like a cross between a ringtailed cat and a monkey? youll believe;)
