  • I think the purpose is to give the gluing stage more surface area to ensure the book stays together. Again, this is the way I make books I don't know what would happen if you didn't follow the instructions.

  • Glue is just your run of the mill white glue/school glue/PVA. This means it might not be acid free but it doesn't bother me. When I make a book which is very precious that I want to keep forever I will do a bit more research and check out what other glue is available.

  • hey, im having trouble in understanding the bit where u add more thread. could u make another video demonstrating it clearly? or could u send me a message explaining. thanks! ps, this is the only bit im stuck with! im making it right now.

  • Mmm, I'm not sure I can explain in any other way, where exactly are you stuck?

  • Use whatever thickness card you like. I would consider the one I made in this video to be a hard cover book

  • is there any need of the black fabric?? please reply! :)

  • book binding thread is suppsed to be used cause its waxy and less likely to snap while sewing. it is however hard to find. an awesome substitute is dental floss. seriously.

  • For the "tape", you could always be lazy and use black duct tape. That's what I'm doing :D

  • @jstluv92 it would break easily...regular thin threads wont be strong enough hold the pages together....use the thick ones...the ones you use in crocheting? i guess im right? just use the thick ones for better results.

  • Thank you so much for the video.. It really helps. ^^

  • @xxcmgxx12 its not really tape 2:27

  • do you sew through the tape or around it?

  • What is the function of the black fabric? I am wondering if I could do away with it. Thank you.

  • but i have some papers with text on it :( please help me i want to make this kind of book too!
