This is the second-to-last video in a series of thirteen (13) gleaned from Peter Schiff's visit to the Woodbury, Connecticut Republican Town Committee on the evening of November 19, 2009. Woodbury, the home of the Dump Dodd movement, is one of the hotbeds of grass roots conservatism gaining momentum inside Connecticut.

Mr. Schiff does not pull any punches. Within inner circles of the investment community and across all social barriers, Mr. Schiff is kindly referred to as "Dr. Doom", for his gloomy forecasts of America's economic future. Compounding his acclaim is the uncanny accuracy he has established with every prediction.

His run for Senate will be entertaining as well as serious business. If he is correct, the United states of America is in peril!!

  • Too many people believe that welfare is killing the economy and it isn't. Modern states need a social safety net. The real drain on the economy is money that is being wasted in gov programs, the military, financial aid, the war on drugs, our gigantic police forces at every single gov level... Welfare is a very small part of the gov and is the least of America's problems.

I used to really hate welfare too, until I needed it. I was on it for almost 2 years due to an injury. It's not cake.

  • You are so correct!

Waste in government has to be at least 25%.

  • Who was that professor asking the significant questions?

  • I don't think so. Welfare is humiliating and gives you far too little to make anyone but the most meager person happy. It's barely enough to feed yourself. 102.50 twice a month and 147 in food stamps and you have to be medically unable to work.

  • If you're not talking about a socialist take over, then no general welfare is not a big deal on the economy. But what schiff was emphasizing was that welfare kills the incentive to work.
