Part 1 of the 2nd of 3 Sets. Interval training shortest but most painful day of the week. 3 sets of 20mins intervals, fast cadence ... pushing thru Lactic Threshold.

Gradually increasing from 290 watts to peak at 400watts. Then do it all over again and again.

Slight toe-pointing. Different story different day

  • Try setting up video cam behind you to see how smooth you can pedal without rocking from side to side when sitting in saddle. A useful reference point is to have a plumbline dropped from front of knee cap and that should be roughly over pedal spindle when cranks are horizontal.

  • I think you need to look at your bike fit a bit closer. It s hard to judge from a video but it looks like you are too far forward on your saddle and possibly rock a lot side to side across the top of the saddle. That may mean that the seat is slightly too high.

  • how do you know how many watts you are producing?

  • your seat is too high!

  • Clearly even though I have strong legs I am still limited by muscles rather than cardiovascular, and it obviously seems more efficient for me to utilise more muscles at a lower cadence. I tried spinning at 90rpm for the hour at 165 watts, although I may have been less fit then and also not giving it my all. I was still sweating quite a bit though.

  • I seem to be able to maintain power significantly better on a full body bike. I was on a Scifit Pro II and put out 275 watts for an entire hour at a cadence of just 70 rpm, my arms cranking along with the legs, arms leading by 90 degrees. I tried the same power taking my arms off the top cranks and my quadriceps started to ache a bit after a while.

  • what bike is that?

  • @mplayer98

he has aero bars and drop bars..

when hes in his drops he sits fine

but since he has to stretch out to hold his aero bars he's off his seat a little
