Freedom originally appeared on the first Propeller-demo named Elastic City (2000). The lyrics really suite the subjects of the protest. We really felt honoured to play this gig, in front of no less than 25000 people, in the centre of Amsterdam. Date: September 20th, 2003.

Thank you for watching my former band Propeller performing "Freedom", at the Keer Het Tij-manifestation in Amsterdam.

I am proud to have been a part of the band's history. Although the band split up in 2008, I keep the history alive on a blog dedicated to Propeller.

And now follows a brief personal comment about the aftermath of the Keer Het Tij-protest.

This footage was shot on September 20th 2003, at De Dam in Amsterdam.

More than 25000 people gathered to protest the neoliberal and neoconservative policies of the Dutch Balkenende government. The protests were also aimed at Bush's war on terror and the Iraq war.

One year later almost half a million protesters repeated this protest.

Nothing changed.

Now it's almost six years later.

Another neocon-puppet named Geert Wilders is preparing to replace Balkenende, in order to speed up the agenda for a police state.

He is already blaming the economic and financial problems of the country to immigrants, muslims and leftwingers. He and his "eurosceptical" party PVV voted for the EU-inspired biometric database, and several other privacy- and freedom violating proposals.

Wilders is proud of being close with right-wing Israeli warmongers and the Mossad.

He wants The Netherlands to send planes to bomb Iran, based on the same kind of lies the Iraq-war started off with.

His party PVV also claims to support the struggle to keep the AOW-pensions available for workers from 65 years of age.

But they never mention that they want to get rid of the minimum-wages, while the AOW-pension actually is based on that very same minimum-wage.

The corporations and banksters have nothing to fear of Wilders.

Nothing changes.

Unless we choose otherwise.
