TONY WILSON "This is what I do" Resources

3/3 Having been involved in numerous education and literacy projects since 1999 I have made and accumulated a large number of diverse resources for schools, teachers and colleges. I have collected some here to give a 'flavour' of the range of things that I have done, made and distributed to help teachers and pupils. Many are collections of stories written with pupils about a specific non-literacy area of the curriculum, e.g. steel making in Ebbw Vale, Vikings and Victorians. I have made single collections of instructional DVDs on how to develop a subject incorporating technology, drama and art; "A Practical guide to Jack and the Beanstalk". This one shows step by step methods of developing manageable technology and art in the primary classroom. Some have been specifically to provide INSET training and CPD; "Practical creative writing in the classroom", with a serially developed scheme of work to help develop the teacher's understanding and confidence in developing their own and the pupils' writing. I have explored the use of art in the classroom with a variety of dramatic re-enactments included in "The Bard by John Martin". Many sets of DVDs have been made as a direct request from schools for a collection of stories; "Christmas Tales", "Stories from a room" and "Grimm Tales by Candlelight".
Before I had the means to edit DVDs I have also made some 40 audio collections of stories suitable for all ages. Just as a hint they are readily available and very reasonably priced.
