The only thing I can't stand is the girl. She's so innocent and it drove me crazy! I mean she's looking through rose-colored glasses. The time is in the late 60s and she walks around as if there's not a problem in the world with interracial dating. I mean I know it's good that color isn't a problem as her parents raised her and after the shock they got over it. But to walk around not be aware that people won't be mean is fairy-tale to me. Sidney's character was aware of it but not her.

There are plenty of lazy unemployed caucasians living in my country, leeching off their own govt. handouts. Often they use "stress" as an excuse for not working.

I don't understand things like racism, just on a simple cognitive level. I've been dating my girlfriend for over four years now (she's black, I'm white) and I've even proposed to her. I don't understand how the melanin levels in the skin is important. Isn't the fact that we want to spend our lives together as soulmates and companions the relevant part of the whole thing? Maybe I'm just over-thinking the ignorance of others....

CarrieVirtual is correct. It was an IDIOTIC comment because it had NOTHING to do with this video. There was no black woman in the footage, and Sidney Poitier decision to date the white woman had NOTHING to do with not finding black women unattractive. So what was the point with the comment besides a desire to annoy others? What did it have to do with this video?
His opinion may have been personal, but his post was PUBLIC. And it's that action I call idiotic.

there was absolutely NO NEED to share such an opinion, to me it reads as if it came out off bitterness & hatred therefore do not attempt to justify it.

Great!! There goes my new year resolution...."to STOP arguing with fools over the internet." But atleast i was right, you are more of an idiot than the first person (toronto0009) who commented on black women. Anyway, rest assured I won't read your comments after this, so don't bother reply....peace out!!
