I was thinking the same, many companies use "Anglo" names in call centers for the clientel they are dealing with. It's not racist or uncommon for this to be done. He didn't ask the housekeeping staff to do it he asked the front line people.

The ladies made fools of themselves. The Spanish changed the Native American names of the area. As a Spanish speaking Gringo, I understand why he asked them to speak English in front of him. And he only asked them to use pseudonyms on the phone. Something many companies all over the world do. I think the ladies got their panties in a bunch over nothing.
