John was a Great Man.....got to meet him once in Hendersonville.....

I still just praise his name. No one, truly no one, has ever been able to bring forth the magnitude of feelings that his work produces in me. The world is so much better because he lived and blessed us all.

John's greatness as a steel guitarist was only surpassed by his greatness as a person. He was truly one of the nicest, finest people you could have ever met. The world not only lost a great musician, it lost one of it's finest people when John Hughey passed away.

I miss John Hughey. Met him at the Nat'l steel guitar convention in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He came there for several years along with Herby Wallace and other great steel players. His sound is like no other. Rest in peace Papa John.

Actually the When I Call Your Name cd was Paul Franklin.
Steel0972, undoubtedly you're right. Paul Franklin was on the CD, and John Hughey in Vince Gill's band at the time. Apologies.
