A demonstration led by SSP's Kevin McVey marched through Springburn to demand that the government invest in jobs instead of bailing out bankers. This was followed by a rally at which Scottish Socialist Youth organiser Andy Bowden and Glasgow North East by-election candidate Kevin McVey spoke, introduced by Frances Curran co-spokesperson for the SSP. They highlighted the vast inequality in wealth in the country and the fact that the government is quite happy to squander billions in bailing out the banks while cutting jobs and services to pay for it. A whole generation of youth faces being unemployed for life unless the government gets its priorities right.
