there once was a mean old lion
who really was much too wild.
so i hung his head above my bed
and said 'that's a little more like it.'
there once was a cruel old tiger
who really was much too eager.
so i stole his coat and gently spoke
a poem to all of the dreamers.
isn't it marvelous to kill all the beasts
and to finally see it's done?
you can sing along,
drifting off to sleep.
there once was a nasty old bear
who really had nothing to fear.
so i made a rug and sang a song
for all the little children to hear.
isn't it marvelous to kill all the beasts
and to finally see it's done?
you can sing along,
drifting off to sleep.

Like this one too. Kinda funny, really. Can't help loving it, seriously. Not what I normally would see as a lullaby, but that only makes it a little more fun. And you still have something to 'teach' us, if you know what I mean.

@danbergam so true, but it's very hard to do!

@efbeckley
That was also a proof of how a true artist should never worry or care about audience reactions; I mean... it's impossible to make them all happy!!!!
^_^;;

@danbergam yeah, that's the same perspective i have. the venom form both sides was quite unique, i thought.

Poor, poor world... I mean, where are we going to end, with so much people being not able to read between the lines? Because, at least to me, the true meaning is quite clear!!!
My friend, you should write a protest song about the people unrightfully fighting over you only because they don't understand your songs!!!
:-S
You know what? Only the best songs are able to light such great and big debates!
You're a winner!!!

@danbergam it's funny because this was the only 'rising video' i've had. the reason it did so well is that all of the 'animal rights' people objected to it and started a little campaign to vote it down, lol. at the same time, a lot of 'pro hunting' people took the time to comment justifying their actions. the comments on this song are really quite interesting. people see what they want to see, and most people wanted to fight with me over it!

@efbeckley
...and as history demonstrates, we're truly able to act like that: to tell ourselves lies, painting enemies where we had friends, only for to (try to) justify our worse faults and mistakes...
I fear too that we could end like that...
I really love this song!

@danbergam yes, this is definitely a protest against destruction of the Earth, and the Great and Noble beasts. At some point (my prediction) this will be an actual explanation of where all of the 'mythical' creatures went.

I guess I've completely misunderstood it... but, oh well, I interpret it like this...
Sounds to me like an epic poem, sung by a minstrel, in which, by the way, the man killing all those beasts is the hero, able to better tell bedtime stories to their children and sleep only after having wiped away all that evil...
But hey! Are we sure that the lion, the tiger and the bear were so bad? Isn't that man, killing those innocent beasts, the real bad boy of this story?
*Great* song.
Great!!!
