This clip is from our series "Interview with Dr. Walter Martin on Cults". This clip answers the question: What does Christian Science believe about the Bible today?
Christian history details clearly that the earliest "heretics" in the Church were those who, instead of turning to the Church, used verses from scripture to create a house of doctrine.
Actually Mr. Martin, she did believe in the absolute authority of the Bible, and if you and Mr. Ankerberg would be honest and read the entire context of the passage, you would have to admit this. But then, you wouldn't have much of a show would you?
@bmiller4930 In Reality: Mrs. Eddy was self-will run riot. Her untreated bipolar had progressed to where she was a rage-a-holic; thats what that disease can do. This info was mostly surpressed but not entirely. U need to do historical research on MBE. The truth: she sat in retirement in her NH mansion, doling out work to her minions, only doing the minimal of whatever she started & doing only what she thought needed doing. She was no 'tireless worker for The Cause', etc. That is Eddy-myth.
Mrs. Eddy healed the sick and raised the dead and helped others to do this, so she suffers from nothing. The Bible is what it is, regardless of anyone's beliefs about it. The key question is, who is loving and healing, or even trying to do this, like Jesus said must be done if you claim to follow him? Churchianity be damned. It is the healing Truth which counts and which the world needs today. And praying for the world to end won't solve the worlds problems like the phonies preach.
I suspect that-since you can write-you're able to read. From your little letter I take it you have read the bible and that you're a zealous believer in this script. You have probably not detected a contradiction in it yet. This again shows that you WANT to believe and that you're not willing to use your brain. People like you mostly are immune to argument. So I won't try to start a discussion.I apologize, though,if my assumption was wrong, i.e., that you are in reality a curious non-believer.
The problem is that Christian Science claims to be "Christian". It's not so much a problem to not believe in the Bible, or sin, or God - but to do this and call one's self "Christian" is when the problem begins.

The Mutest,
The problem is that Christian Science claims to be "Christian". It's not so much a problem to not believe in the Bible, or sin, or God - but to do this and call one's self "Christian" is when the problem begins.
