The aorta is the large artery that leaves your heart and provides oxygen rich blood throughout your body. This blood vessel is made up of three layers. In some circumstances, a tear to that develops in the inner layer causing the aorta to bleed into itself through the middle layer.

  • My wife of 41 years complained of a sharp pain in the back. She was awake until surgery, she died within three days. I know she had high blood pressure, other than that she was a very active person. This is so sudden. Since then, I understand there are survivors. Very rare condition.
