Yeah, but Pit doesn't really have any connections with Link & Yoshi...he really just looks at him to confirm if they're the ones he's battling with Mario.

In THIS, Yoshi's had a past with Mario & the way Link misunderstands the situation is just kinda screwed up...in that story developing way.
