Great stuff. Your video helps make people aware of the urgent need to STOP USING FOSSIL FUELS.

Thanks!

It will also give it a little more pre-tension, which means that when the car goes over a pothole etc the wheel acctually drops down into the hole, this keeps all four wheels on the ground at all times giving better traction over the bumpy stuff.

It's nice to see a electric car system that isn't LESS environmentally freindly than a normal car. What type of batteries are you using?

your beam is the two front torsion bars and mountings. Because you've lost so much weight from the front (for obvius reasons) u'll see the car is sitting high at the front end and the ride is probably abit bouncy. A lowered beam besically rotates the torsion bars, lowering the front end and giving a softer ride.

Dear Firefly
At thr risk of seeming ignorent of things automotive, just what is a "lowered beam"?

Hmmm. Food for though. I walk and ride the local bus (powered by natural gas) to work. Nevertheless, after seeing your video, I am tempted to buy some old clunker on the verge of going to the scrap heap and convert it. I assume that could be accomplished for less than $5,000, or is that unrealistic of me?

Dear packjim,
It can be done. Less if you don't mind a little grease on your knuckles. Go for it!

Definitely something to think over. Cool project and an even cooler idea, bet it gets a lot of looks on the street :D

Also, I know I'm poor when I see this video and think that not only would I like a car like that...I want a house like that even more :(
