technology is a more interesting subject these days, thats why so many people are cooperating to make it better. cancer is different, its almost like trying to make us not die from old age. but one day we will have nanobots and they will cure cancer :)

Well... you could... ONCE. But it seems that Microsoft have torn it to shreds in an effort to make it an online-only technology.
I was hoping they were planning on releasing it as a new operating system's desktop environment. No more worrying about resolutions and window sizes, replacing it all with an infinitely large virtual desktop controllable with zoom & pan just like in this TED video.
Right at the start he says: >"this is SeaDragon, and it's an environment in which you can either locally or remotely interact with vast amounts of visual data."
Note he says "Locally or Remotely"
But if you look at Microsoft's SeaDragon, Silverlight DeepZoom, or Photosynth webpages you will see that Microsoft have completely discarded the LOCAL Viewing capability. They are all remote viewing ONLY. They killed the "Local viewing" part. It CAN'T browse photos/books stored on your computer.
