@konbitkreyol Well, since the Harlem Renaissance spanned throughout the twenties and early thirties, and because Baldwin wasn't published until 1953, maybe it would be more accurate to say he was a child of the Renaissance. Being born in 1924, it's easy to understand how his writing style developed that particular (Though uniquely delicious) H.R. flavor.
