WONG:
Today Japan defeated South-Korea 5-3 in a thrilling World Baseball Classic final. Despite a midday TV broadcast in Asia, millions of Japanese and Koreans were estimated to have watched the title game in venues ranging from pubs to prisons and on big and small screens.

STORY:
The all-Asian final was also shown on large-screen TVs in Seoul and Tokyo, with fans gathering at sites such as baseball stadiums and electronic stores for an update.

At the electronics store Bic Camera in Tokyo, hundreds of Japan fans crowded the television department corner to watch the game together, clapping and chanting "Ichiro", with some crying after the win.

[Yukio Ohara, Tokyo Resident]:
"It's great. I'm so grateful to have Ichiro clinch the game after seeing Japan fall behind."

[Hisami Ishibashi, Japanese Baseball Fan]:
"The game was great and I'm happy. I came here from Kyoto on vacation and stopped in here to watch."

Some like Norihisa Sakamoto and his colleague saw the game on the go on his mobile phone.

[Norihisa Sakamoto, Japanese Baseball Fan]:
"I can watch anywhere with this cell phone and can't keep my eyes off the game."

Across the strait, more than ten thousand baseball fans also gathered in Seoul's biggest stadium to watch the final game against Japan on huge electronic board.

The stadium erupted in cheers when South Korea tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth inning, but turned to groans when Japan recaptured the lead -- and ultimately the title -- on Ichiro Suzuki's two-run single in the 10th.

After winning over Japan twice previously during the classic, South Korea's expectation for the final winning was big.

[Yoon Sang-il, S. Korean Baseball Fan]:
"It's so disappointing because I was pretty much sure that we would win this game against Japan. Our team did a really good job, but I think it was one percent short."

South Korea's Justice Ministry gave special permission for prisoners in 47 jails and detention centers to watch the game, although TV is usually prohibited during daytime.

You are right, this should have ended a while ago. We are proof of the dangers posed upon us of miscommunication and bias. I apologize for anything ignorant and stupid I have said! Take care now.

  • @GrungeRockerAziz

I hope this settles our differences and move on! I think the main problem was miscommunication here... This conversation should've ended a long time ago. Ta!

  • @GrungeRockerAziz

I hope you realise Aziz, that i'm only up to this as long as you are lol.. Glad that Circassians and Russians are just doing their best to move on. Russia doesn't 'owe' anything to 'your people', yes, but still how'd one feel if Russia pretends like nothing's happened and forgets what's happened, when there are still many who have open wounds (metaphor, you!) from the Russians?... That's the case.

  • @GrungeRockerAziz

*sigh*... My friend, don't call me a dumbass, you were sounding like some Nazi pig, licking feet etc. Your communication wasn't clearly conveyed; that's a fault on you my friend.

Also, our context for 'domination' is different, hence there's misunderstanding; your historical points are correct, regarding regional power. However, I'm talking about FUTBALL!! and other sports! And cars, consumer electronics and others that actually mean stuff to normal people!

  • @GuyGroovey

Now if this doesn't wrap it up, I don't know what will. So long! :)

  • @GuyGroovey

As for the third point in this strange list you've conjured, I am from Circassia, and we are people to know of oppression. The Russians massacred and deported our people in the past, but what do I have against them? Very little, because for the most part, they are people doing their best to live just like we are, and save for some regretful historical events, we are all the same. Today's Japan 'owes' nothing to Korea, just like the Russians 'owe' nothing to me or my people.

  • @GuyGroovey

Wow Groovey, still up to this!

Unfortunately, South Korea, whether by Japan or China, have been dominated before, while this domination never went the other way around. This is really the only thing I feel the need to mention. Let's see, what did Imperial Japan do to South Korea? Let's think 1910... :/

I said, what do you expect us here in Germany to do to the Jewish now, lick their feet for the 'atrocities? I didn't "think that", you just didn't get the sarcasm, dumbass.
